Your generosity has brought so much excitement into our room, and the impact has been immediate. The children were thrilled to explore the new materials, and they continue to ask for them each day.\r\n\r\nThe new books have strengthened many early literacy skills in our Pre-K classroom. Through shared reading, picture walks, and small group discussions, students are building vocabulary, learning how stories are structured, making predictions, and practicing comprehension by retelling events in order. They are also developing important print awareness skills such as holding a book correctly, turning pages, recognizing letters and words, and understanding that print carries meaning. Reading in our classroom is active and joyful!\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant to participate during story time are now eager to choose books and share their ideas with the class. Some of my emerging readers especially love using the letter manipulatives to match sounds and build simple words, which has made phonics practice hands-on and meaningful. The new painting materials have also opened another avenue for learning, allowing students to express story ideas, illustrate what they hear, and strengthen fine motor skills through creative art experiences. Thank you for investing in our students' learning, confidence, and joy each day.","fullyFundedDate":1774963867972,"projectUrl":"project/resources-to-support-early-literacy-and/10083623/","projectTitle":"Resources to Support Early Literacy and Creative Development","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Savoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8183393"},{"teacherId":4882981,"projectId":4623362,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to the \"I've got the Power\" project. This project allowed me to provide my students with individual text-to-speak e-reader pens. All of my students were incredibly eager to try them. \r\n\r\nThe biggest impact was on my students who struggled with reading as well as those who are ESL. The e-reader pens allowed my students to listen to the same texts and books as their peers while following along. It also made them eager to read, something which they had previously dreaded.\r\n\r\nI appreciate the Morgridge Family Foundation for providing a matching opportunity for this project. Because of their generosity, this project was funded twice as fast. This meant my students could enjoy the benefits of the e-reader pens even faster!
