Food insecurity is a real problem where I teach. Students often come to school hungry even though we provide a cold meal for them. Knowing that I have available snacks for them whenever they are needed has been a huge blessing for my students.\r\nWe have had state testing over the past few months. The mints you generously provided allowed my students to focus and pay attention during the testing. It also allowed me to be able to monitor their progress without being obvious.\r\nThe support that I have received from Donors Choose has benefited my students in more ways then you will ever know. Thank you! Thank you! Because of your generosity my students have been able to engage in hands-on learning! Many of my students have never had to put anything together themselves so this was a fun, but challenging project. \r\nStudents had multiple steps to this project. Before even looking at the directions, they had to write their own. Afterwards, they then compared their directions to the ones supplied. From there they actually built the project, while taking not of difficulties and success. At the end they created a paragraphing detailing the work they had to do to complete the project. \r\nWe are grateful for this donation. They also felt relief knowing that there were not going to be financial constraints to being in music class. This also meant that we were able to repair a few more instruments, so students did not have broken instruments being a barrier to producing a good sound.\r\n\r\nThey were able to take practice pads home and work on their technique. In class, they could get up and get themselves a reed instead of having to wait for a parent to be able to afford a pack of reeds with their next paycheck.
