Each day, my transitional kindergarten students rotate through the listening center, where they follow along with picture books as they listen to the stories being read aloud. It's been incredible to watch their engagement grow — they're learning how to track words on a page, recognize story patterns, and build stronger listening skills. The new materials have made this center come alive and added so much excitement to our daily literacy routines.\r\n\r\nWhen the resources first arrived, the students were beyond excited. For many of them, this was their very first experience using a listening center, and they couldn't wait to take turns setting up the CDs and following along with the narrators. They treat the materials with such care and pride, and it's clear how special it feels to have something new and just for them in our classroom.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're using these audiobooks to support our storytelling and comprehension lessons. Students will soon begin retelling their favorite parts of the stories through drawings and conversations, and we'll be using what they hear to deepen their understanding of story structure and language.
