This was a fantastic project for the students to hone their CAD, fabrication, and assembly skills. It was also a great lesson in planning, timing, and communication.\r\n\r\nThere were many unforeseen hiccups and setbacks in the project, and they all served as learning experiences for our young team. About a third of our students are rookies, and they were able to get a taste of industrial design.\r\n\r\nThis pit structure will serve the team well in its organization at events, and it will provide a benchmark of excellence upon which we will strive to improve. Students can now store materials neatly, which makes it easier to start and clean up projects.\r\n\r\nThe iPad is being used by our robotics team as a scouting tool during competitions.
