Especially during a time when supplies are hard to come by. I now have what I need to keep celebrating each student's birthday. It was important to me to be able to give each student the same thing, but I was low on supplies and wouldn't have been able to give everyone a little birthday surprise. Now I have cute little birthday bags ready to go for everyone this year and for many, many more. Student's love getting something special on their special day. \r\n\r\nWe are set to make lots of crafts for the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day coming up soon. Some of the things I originally ordered were not available. It ended up working out well because I always discover things I need that I forgot to ask for. I was able to get magnets for our mother's day presents, dry erase markers, and name plates. I didn't realize I was low or out of these things. Sometimes that happens, I go to use something and realize I am out or an going to need more. So you helped me in many ways with this project. You helped our school work through a tough time and not run out of copy paper! Thank you! It may not seem like much, but not having paper to practice early writing skills in the Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade, is not an option. \r\n\r\nThe paper from this project made it possible for the elementary grades to continue to work with everything they needed, especially for math. Our math curriculum has a lot of parts. Many of which require print outs of cards for students to sort and manipulate. physically manipulating things is an very important step in early math learning too. We were able to keep making math materials for class and homework. Students continued to get practice writing numbers and working out math concepts uninterrupted. \r\n\r\nLastly, I was able to get all my students new crayons to start the 2nd semester. Students have come a long way and are more focused than ever which is perfect for all the learning we need to do in the 2nd half of the year. Also, the adaptors helped to stop the crazy cycle of broken adaptors and no adaptors! We were able to replace adaptors right away and had plenty when others broke. I still have plenty to replace any that break between here and the end of the year. Of all the things I need to worry about for each student's education, adaptors could not be one of them. With your help we have started off our year well stocked and ready to learn. We have been working hard to learn how to hold our pencils and write our names. In some of our photos you will see us drawing, thinking and sharing about vocabulary from our texts. Writing is hard for K students at first, but once they build up stamina they really love to write. They feel so grown! \r\nWe haven't officially started using our journals yet. We have been writing on separate sheets of paper. We will be ready to start drawing and writing in our journals at the end of January. \r\nWe have been using glue sticks to create masterpieces of art in our daily PlayLab. Students love creating and making things. We have to work hard to take care of our glue sticks as we like to leave off the caps, but we are getting more responsible each week. We also create with markers from this project. \r\nLastly we have used the cardstock for many of the things we use everyday. Our name tags are printed on cardstock which helps them stand up to be easily read and stand up to our roughness. The cardstock has been very helpful with creating most of the math materials we use. Having things organized and easily accessible is super helpful as we work with different toys. \r\nLastly, one of the puzzles wasn't available, but that is ok.
