This hands-on experience not only deepens their understanding of painting as an art form but also equips them with practical knowledge they can use beyond the classroom—saving costs and ensuring they can continue creating independently.\r\nWhen the supplies arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Seeing the raw materials in front of them sparked an immediate excitement, and they eagerly dove into the process of building and preparing their canvases. Learning how to construct their own surfaces gave them a new appreciation for the craft, and they took great pride in each step—from assembling the stretcher bars to applying the final coat of gesso. It has been inspiring to witness their enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment as they gain confidence in their abilities.\r\nNow, these canvases are serving as the foundation for a landscape painting project, allowing students to explore composition, color mixing, and texture in their work. The skills they have learned will stay with them well beyond this class, empowering them to continue creating wherever their artistic journeys take them.
