During the Fall season, we made \"Thankful Turkeys.\" Since there was some gluing involved (we glued the thankful-feathers on the turkey), the drying rack came in handy. I normally try to find a place for art projects on my counters. It is not ideal! However, a giant drying rack that has 15 shelves makes more sense! \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1758142502953,"projectUrl":"project/the-artists-tools/9670123/","projectTitle":"The Artists' Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Metters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2951289_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541379520683","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/l-metters"},{"teacherId":2922971,"projectId":9384665,"letterContent":"My students are using these great resources throughout the day, EVERY SINGLE DAY! They go crazy for them! I am consistently amazed at their creativity and imaginations! The different structures and objects they build get better and more complex with each time they use the materials. Students run up to me every day, tell me they have Science today (or some other day that week) and that they can't wait to go!\r\n\r\nOne of the best benefits of these materials is the collaboration between students it inspires. I hear students tell each other, \"Let's build a ______ together!\" Kindergartners are just beginning to learn teamwork skills, sharing, and how to work together. It is a skill that they must learn by doing. I like to challenge them to build a structure together as a team.\r\n\r\nAnother benefit is they are learning persistence, to never give up. If they build a structure, and it falls or doesn't quite fit right, they are learning to notice what is wrong, rebuild it and try the procedure again. These are wonderful skills to learn as they grow older. Not to mention, this is also part of the engineering design process!\r\n\r\nI started this school year with barely any engineering supplies for my Kindergartners. Now, my classroom has been transformed into a creative, productive, energetic space!\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for your generosity.
