During the Micro:bit Challenge, students designed and created warning signals for disasters, helping them connect coding to real-world applications such as safety and emergency preparedness.\r\nIn the Sphero Challenge, students took their learning even further by connecting coding with Earth and Space Science concepts like solar radiation and absorption. They programmed their Sphero Minis to avoid edges and obstacles while showcasing creativity and innovation in designing unique robot behaviors. Watching them combine science and coding with confidence and excitement was truly inspiring.\r\nOur Navajo students embraced these activities with enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination. Their engagement was remarkable, and many were recognized for outstanding participation in our Earth and Space class alternative activity. It was a proud moment for our classroom community.\r\nEven more exciting is the impact beyond the classroom. Many of my female students, in particular, have gained confidence and motivation in coding. Several are now eager to join the Summer Quest for Quantum Computing Camp at Central Arizona College in Coolidge—an incredible step toward expanding their opportunities in technology and higher education.\r\nYour support has done more than provide materials ( SPHERO MINI ROBOTS)—it has opened doors. You have helped our students begin to see themselves as future innovators in Computer Science, STEAM, and CTE pathways. We are hopeful that this experience will spark lifelong interests and guide them toward bright and successful futures.\r\nThank you once again for believing in our students and investing in their dreams. Your generosity has made a lasting and meaningful impact.","fullyFundedDate":1767114442347,"projectUrl":"project/building-future-innovators-navajo-stude/9829972/","projectTitle":"Building Future Innovators: Navajo Students Coding","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lorrie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9703977"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63715","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":340,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":99,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":63715,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pinon High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pinon High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/pinon-unified-school-district-4/pinon-high-school/63715"}
