While they were more excited to read The Hunger Games, a few used The Hobbit for independent book reports! We used The Hunger Games for our Unit 2 class novel, the theme of the unit being called \"The Powers that Be.\" This started the discussions of a 'just' and 'fair' society. With The Hunger Games novels sparked debate about even though the novel is fiction, they were amazed at how many things overlapped in real life. They got to make their own propaganda posters and they made connections to real life events. Their next assignment is to write an argumentative essay about if they believe the main character is a reliable narrator or not. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your donations to our classroom, it shows me that others are just as invested in my students as I am. As a first time user of Donors Choose I will admit, I was worried about how this would go.
