The first time they saw the magnetic letters and whiteboard paddles, they immediately wanted to start building words and practicing spelling. It was incredible to see their enthusiasm—something as simple as writing on a paddle made learning feel fun and special. The sensory tools have also been a big hit, giving students a calming way to refocus when they need a little break.\r\n\r\nWe've already been putting these materials to good use during small group reading and math lessons. For example, while one group practices word building with magnetic letters, another group uses clipboards to write around the room, and others explore the marble-run STEM activity together. The marble run has quickly become a class favorite—it encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, and the students cheer each other on as they figure out how to build a design that works.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping us create a more hands-on, flexible, and engaging classroom environment. The next step is weaving these tools into our daily literacy and math centers, giving every student more opportunities to practice skills in meaningful, interactive ways. Thank you for helping my first graders grow as learners while also having fun—they are truly thriving because of your generosity!\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nMrs. Taliercio","fullyFundedDate":1746786164080,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-first-grade-learners-with-han/9057891/","projectTitle":"Empowering First-Grade Learners With Hands-On Tools and Creative Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taliercio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9233105_orig.jpg?crop=297,297,x644,y160&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693272359128","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9233105"},{"teacherId":9634082,"projectId":8999501,"letterContent":"We are using the wobble chair pads, erasers for whiteboards, and doodle pads to enhance their learning experiences and engagement in the classroom. Wobble chair pads, designed to promote movement and improve focus, allow students to stay active while seated, helping those who struggle with staying still to concentrate better (and my IEP kids!). Erasers for whiteboards offer a practical and efficient tool for students to quickly revise, rewrite, or erase their work, fostering a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. This is especially helpful during math class! The doodle pads encourage creativity and help students express ideas visually, whether for brainstorming, note-taking, or simply relaxing during breaks. \r\n\r\nThe students first saw the materials like wobble chair pads, whiteboard erasers, and doodle pads, their reactions were a mix of excitement and curiosity. Many were intrigued by the wobble chair pads and wanted to use them right away! The whiteboard erasers were met with enthusiasm, since we were using socks before. Doodle pads sparked creativity and were used when we had some brain breaks.","fullyFundedDate":1734015921240,"projectUrl":"project/middle-of-the-year-classroom-necessities/8999501/","projectTitle":"Middle of the Year Classroom Necessities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rutty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9634082"},{"teacherId":222308,"projectId":8574872,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my gratitude for your generous contributions to my classroom. The incredible resources you have provided—ranging from hands-on tools like the Little Minds at Work Science of Reading Essentials Toolkit and the Sound Wall Classroom Phonics Kit to transformative books such as The Teaching Reading Sourcebook and The New Art and Science of Teaching—have made an immeasurable difference in the lives of my students.\r\n\r\nEach item has become an essential piece of our learning journey. For example, the Vocabulary in a SNAP lessons have introduced quick, engaging activities that allow my students to explore language in meaningful ways. The Starting with Prefixes and Suffixes resource has been pivotal in helping them decode unfamiliar words and build confidence in their spelling and reading skills. Seeing their eyes light up when they connect new knowledge to their everyday experiences is an absolute joy.\r\n\r\nThe Literacy Foundations for English Learners has equipped me with strategies to meet the diverse needs of my students, ensuring that English learners feel supported and empowered. Tools like the Reading Readiness Activity Set and the Hammerhead Number Hunt Game provide multisensory, interactive ways for my students to engage with foundational skills. These materials make learning tangible and fun, turning what might be a challenge into an opportunity for growth and discovery.\r\n\r\nThe Beneath the Surface of Words book has deepened my understanding of English spelling, allowing me to better explain these complex systems to my students. The Grab That Monster Fine Motor Activity Set has been particularly beneficial for students who need additional support with fine motor skills, giving them confidence in both literacy and physical dexterity.\r\n\r\nThe combination of evidence-based instruction and hands-on manipulatives has created a balanced, engaging, and supportive environment where every student feels they can succeed. Your generosity has also lightened my preparation load, allowing me to spend more time connecting with my students and less time creating materials from scratch.\r\n\r\nAs my students learn to read and spell, they are developing not only foundational academic skills but also a lifelong love for learning. Your gifts have played a critical role in fostering that passion. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in our potential and supporting us so thoughtfully. Your impact will be felt for years to come as these young learners grow and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1727462711020,"projectUrl":"project/building-readers-and-mathematicians/8574872/","projectTitle":"Building Readers and Mathematicians","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Whiteley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp222308_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1531921372667","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/222308"},{"teacherId":1907441,"projectId":8590720,"letterContent":"Our kindergarteners this year continue to struggle with high anxiety and stress, and the limited skills to self-regulate.
