Students have been able to visually see how each two-digit number is composed. For instance, the students see that the number 37 is made up of 3 tens and 7 ones. In the next several weeks we will begin looking at how groups of ten can be broken back down into ones and how numbers can be represented in other ways; an example would be the number 37 being made up of 2 tens and 17 ones. Throughout the remainder of the year, we will continue to solidify our number sense using the math cubes and begin using the math cubes to work with double digit addition and subtraction. The students love working with the math cubes and are proud to show their work using them during math instruction and/or learning times. My students and I thank you immensely for helping us get the needed materials to make our learning more hands on and meaningful.","fullyFundedDate":1757086978318,"projectUrl":"project/putting-it-all-together/9462499/","projectTitle":"Putting It All Together","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wallen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2977671_orig.jpg?crop=2208,2208,x0,y736&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752520135329","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/amanda-bair"},{"teacherId":6747947,"projectId":9725257,"letterContent":"Sensory items have had a meaningful impact on our classroom by supporting students' regulation, engagement, and overall learning environment.\r\n\r\nFirst, sensory items help students self-regulate. Tools such as fidgets, flexible seating, noise-canceling headphones, or textured objects give students appropriate ways to manage excess energy, anxiety, or sensory overload. When students can meet their sensory needs, they are better able to stay calm and focused rather than becoming distracted or disruptive.\r\n\r\nSecond, they improve attention and learning. Many students—especially those with ADHD, autism, or sensory processing differences—concentrate better when they can move, touch, or apply gentle sensory input. Sensory items allow these students to stay engaged in lessons for longer periods, which can lead to improved academic performance and task completion.\r\n\r\n\r\nFinally, sensory items often lead to fewer behavioral challenges. When students have proactive tools to manage their emotions and bodies, they are less likely to experience meltdowns, frustration, or off-task behavior. This creates a calmer classroom environment that benefits both students and you as the teacher.\r\n\r\nOverall, sensory items help create a classroom that is more responsive, inclusive, and conducive to learning by meeting students' diverse sensory and emotional needs.","fullyFundedDate":1765405847334,"projectUrl":"project/the-quiet-quarters/9725257/","projectTitle":"The Quiet Quarters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bella","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6747947_orig.jpg?crop=3072,3072,x0,y512&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684332697874","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6747947"},{"teacherId":5179205,"projectId":9828768,"letterContent":"It has been a few months since we received the headphones and many of my students have already benefitted from your generous donation.
