Because of your donations, my students now have access to high-quality STEM materials that have transformed the way they learn and engage in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new resources during hands-on STEM and engineering lessons where students design, build, test, and improve their ideas. One powerful moment occurred during an engineering challenge when students worked in teams to create and revise their builds. They collaborated, discussed their thinking, tested their designs, and made improvements based on what worked and what didn't. Students who are usually quiet found their voices, while others took on leadership roles—everyone was engaged and invested in the learning process.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. Many immediately asked questions about how the materials worked and what they could create. The room was filled with energy, smiles, and a genuine eagerness to get started. Students felt proud knowing they were trusted with real tools and materials, which motivated them to take their work seriously.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our learning continues to grow. The next steps for my students include applying these materials to more complex STEM challenges that connect to our science and math curriculum. Students will continue strengthening skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, perseverance, and explaining their thinking using academic language. These experiences are helping students see themselves as engineers, scientists, and confident learners.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provided more than supplies—it created meaningful opportunities for students to explore, think critically, and believe in themselves. Thank you for giving my students a glimpse into what's possible and for being a part of their learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1758291273789,"projectUrl":"project/the-power-of-play-interactive-stem-lear/9671560/","projectTitle":"The Power of Play: Interactive STEM Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4341359_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1489864971768","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4341359"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64812","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":493,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.3,"schoolId":64812,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pine Crest Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pine Crest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/pine-crest-elementary-school/64812"}
