I want my students to come in each morning and have an opportunity ton get creative. I want them to have a choice in what they get to do and how they are going to do it. These activities will encourage them to work together on a common task and have some fun! The materials I have chosen address the multiple intelligences of my students. There are art and tactile materials such as Legos and magnetic shapes for the visual strengths. I have chosen brain teaser puzzles and number games for the logical/mathematical students. I have ordered word games for the literary learners. I have included desk games such a dominoes and colored tile games to emphasize interactive play. I have also included stencils and drawing materials for those who just like to sit on their own and draw. I have also ordered building sets for the budding engineers. I want my class to leave their inhibitions at the door, come in and be a kid. I want they to see how leaning can be fun and these activities are more than just games. I am hoping that by giving them this daily choice, letting them bond and connect with each other in a different way will jump start our days and allow for a great and engaging day full of learning.
