Because of you, our students had the chance to work with real laboratory tools like a microcentrifuge and a colorimeter—equipment they had only seen in pictures or videos before.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments came during a bacterial transformation lab, when students used the microcentrifuge for the first time. As the samples spun, students leaned in, asked questions, and watched in amazement. That simple moment sparked conversations about how scientists separate cells and study DNA, turning an abstract idea into something real and exciting.\r\n\r\nUsing the colorimeter, students were able to see immediate results from their experiments and connect numbers on a screen to what was actually happening in their reactions. Concepts that often feel confusing suddenly made sense, and students gained confidence as they realized they could collect and interpret real scientific data.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students in a rural, low-income community, experiences like this are rare. Your generosity opened the door to hands-on science, curiosity, and the belief that they belong in STEM spaces.
