The new furniture and resources are being used daily during individual counseling sessions, small therapeutic groups, emotional regulation breaks, and social-emotional learning activities.\r\n\r\nWhen students first walked into the updated space, many immediately commented on how \"peaceful,\" \"comfortable,\" and \"different\" the room felt. Several students who are usually guarded or hesitant to engage were more willing to sit, talk, and participate in sessions because the environment felt safe and inviting rather than clinical or intimidating.\r\n\r\nOne meaningful moment occurred during a small group session focused on stress management and peer support. Students naturally opened up to one another while seated comfortably in the new space, practicing coping skills and discussing healthy ways to manage emotions and school pressures. The environment helped foster connection, trust, and emotional safety.\r\n\r\nThese resources are continuing to support ongoing work around emotional regulation, communication skills, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and coping strategies. Our next steps include expanding therapeutic group activities, incorporating more mindfulness and wellness exercises, and continuing to create a space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow emotionally and academically.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create more than just a furnished room—it has helped create a safe space for healing, reflection, and growth. Thank you for investing in our students' well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1767034025272,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-safe-space-to-talk-heal-and/9962945/","projectTitle":"Creating a Safe Space to Talk, Heal, and Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herbert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10386545_orig.jpg?crop=813,813,x0,y146&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765988122504","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10386545"},{"teacherId":10424087,"projectId":10072899,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom.
