Many of my students experience sensory processing challenges, difficulty remaining seated, and limited attention spans during learning activities. The flexible seating options and sensory supports have helped create a calmer, more engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel more comfortable and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these materials, students have shown increased participation during small group instruction, centers, and classroom routines. Flexible seating has provided students with opportunities to regulate their bodies while still remaining engaged in instruction. Students who previously struggled to stay seated for even short periods of time are now able to attend to activities for longer durations with fewer behaviors and increased independence.\r\n\r\nThe sensory supports have also helped reduce frustration and support emotional regulation throughout the school day. My students especially enjoy using the flexible seating during reading, fine motor activities, and sensory breaks. These materials have allowed me to better meet the unique sensory and learning needs of each student while promoting inclusion, comfort, and access to instruction.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my students and helping create a classroom environment where they can feel safe, supported, and successful every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769177907708,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-sensory-supported-l/9990415/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Sensory-Supported Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9704002"},{"teacherId":10403538,"projectId":10016971,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generosity and support of our classroom. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to bring in flexible seating options like a bean bag chair and a wobble stool—items that have already made a meaningful impact on our students' daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nThese seating choices have provided my students with opportunities to feel more comfortable, focused, and in control of their learning environment. The bean bag chair has quickly become a favorite space for students who benefit from a calm, cozy area to read, regulate, or take a brief break when feeling overwhelmed. It has helped create a safe and inviting atmosphere that supports both emotional well-being and engagement.\r\n\r\nThe wobble stool has also been a valuable addition. Many of my students need movement to stay focused, and this flexible seating option allows them to wiggle safely while continuing to participate in lessons. I've noticed improved attention, increased participation, and fewer disruptions, as students are better able to meet their sensory needs.\r\n\r\nThese items have not only enhanced comfort but have also supported independence, self-regulation, and positive behavior in the classroom. Your kindness has truly made a difference in creating an inclusive and supportive learning space where all students can thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their success.","fullyFundedDate":1769177901832,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-seating-and-supports/10016971/","projectTitle":"Sensory Seating and Supports","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. De Leon-Pinedo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403538"},{"teacherId":3092993,"projectId":9764959,"letterContent":"The resources from this project have helped several of my students. Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder can find the classroom environment overstimulating and these tools have helped. Students with ADHD have a hard time sitting still or safely in their chairs. The bouncy feet let them move around while still being safe and not tipping their chairs over. I have a few students who do not like loud noises and become upset, the noise cancelling headphones have helped them be more comfortable, especially during our bi-weekly choir lessons. Students who were gripping their pencils incorrectly are now holding them correctly with the help of the pencil grips.
