Our students were so excited to hear that our project was funded and that we would be able to start our drink cart. Receiving the items was so exciting, and our students would go up to the office every afternoon to see if we had any boxes yet. Once the boxes started arriving, we would spend time opening each item, discussing what it was going to be used for, and finding a place to keep it. It was such an exciting time for our students, and we can't thank you enough!\r\n\r\nIn the past several months, we have implemented the project fully and have weekly drink carts for staff and a monthly drink cart for the student body. We were also able to start a drink cart for staff at the grade school and received orders for 60 staff drinks as a last-day-of-school gift from their principal. We have expanded our menu from basic iced coffee and teas to include flavored lemonades, dirty sodas, hot chocolate, and more. At this time, we have made over 500 total drinks for staff and students in our school. \r\n\r\nThe students have benefited from this project in many ways. They have learned about food safety and hygiene guidelines while preparing food for others; how to follow written/picture directions to make a drink; reading labels and following those directions; increased social skills by interacting with customers and delivering drinks; and so much more. They have learned to track our inventory, order new items as needed, and help to track our budget. This has been an extremely beneficial project for my students, and we look forward to continued learning!","fullyFundedDate":1761680717447,"projectUrl":"project/phhs-patriots-red-white-brew/9811166/","projectTitle":"PHHS Patriots Red White & Brew","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Medlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10306511_orig.jpg?crop=100,100,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760458546421","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10306511"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29011","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":208,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":12,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":29011,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Peoria Heights High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Peoria Heights High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/peoria-heights-community-school-district-325/peoria-heights-high-school/29011"}
