They enjoyed creating art that made them feel happy and proud.\r\nWatching the Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers helps the students remain in a calm state. For example, one student likes to hold onto it as he does work, so it's like a fidget or sensory tool for him.\r\nThe fully funded project allows the students to use their senses to create art and remain calm. The science materials (to address the standards based curriculum) have been received and unpacked! Although my students and I looked through the materials, we haven't had the opportunity to use them yet. Life Sciences and Land Forms will be covered during the second half of the year and we can't wait to use the kits.\r\n\r\nI'm happy to report that we have made use of the disinfectant wipes, Expo markers, and magnetic baskets. The hard surfaces in our classroom (desks, tables, and chairs) are wiped down at the end of the school day, and I've noticed that there are much fewer student absences. The pack of colorful Expo markers have allowed me to color code subjects and differentiate notes for students. The fine tip black Expo markers allow my students to practice skills that they are learning on white boards, without using endless amounts of photocopied worksheets...and since they are all given the same type of Expo markers, there is no complaining! Lastly, the magnetic baskets help in keeping things organized.","fullyFundedDate":1759631011448,"projectUrl":"project/support-our-science-exploration/9779586/","projectTitle":"Support Our Science Exploration!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Denis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/794002"},{"teacherId":9755156,"projectId":9770731,"letterContent":"Thank you so much again for providing these for our classroom. During our morning Aloha Circle, the new Describe Cards quickly became a favorite—students eagerly chose cards to spark conversations, reflect on their feelings, and build stronger connections with one another. We also pull them during our end of day meeting or for brain breaks, The calm strips have also made a noticeable difference; students quietly use them during transitions or moments of frustration, helping them self-regulate and return ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already transformed our goal groups and intervention time. The phonics read-alouds, decodable readers, and Blah Blah Blah phonics cards have added energy and engagement to our small-group ELA lessons. Students who normally hesitate to read aloud are volunteering because the materials feel fun and accessible. In math, the large integer number line and the dry-erase fraction number lines have helped students visualize concepts more clearly. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll be using Equality's Call and V Is for Voting during our upcoming civics unit, helping students think deeply about fairness, community, and their role as future citizens. The stock of standard paper is already supporting science, social studies, and art projects, giving students the chance to create, explore, and express their learning in hands-on ways.
