Their eyes lit up as they looked through the bookmarks, pencils, and other prizes. Several students said, \"I'm going to try a harder book next time!\" Your support truly sparked encouragement and confidence.\r\n\r\nWe're already seeing students push themselves to read more challenging books and take their time on comprehension. They couldn't wait to earn a prize. They helped me unbox everything as we looked through everything they could possibly earn. \r\n\r\n The next step for my classroom is to continue reinforcing rules and procedures to teach them to be successful in class. Most special needs children have some type of behavior or stereotypy in which they need an outlet or reinforcement to stay on track. Having a variety of reinforcers ensures that every child has a choice of what to work for.
