Being that I received these books at the end of the school year, my 7th graders were only able to get through one novel. We read Crossing the Wire. The impact this novel had on my students was phenomenal. They were able to resonate with it because we live in a border town. The author spoke of towns such as Nogales, AZ, Tucson, AZ, and even our small town of Douglas, AZ. The excitement on their faces was irreplaceable. 🤗 It is my hope to read it with my students this year, in addition to the other two.
