MANY of the children in this years group of Kindergarteners did not already know how to write their first names. The name tag holders allowed them to see their names upright and in front of them as they were learning which was so helpful. The name tag holders also allowed them to see other important information on their name tags like an alphabet chart, number line, color words, and hundreds chart. \r\nMy students also love using the name tag holders to display their family pictures, if they're having a sad moment or just miss mom or dad or grandma. Many pictures were placed in the name tag holders at the beginning of the school year. \r\nThey also are able to tuck in their \"caught you being good\" cards and/or positive penguins which are used as tickets to the treasure box. The students need 5 to get a prize and they've been able to easily count on their own to see if they have enough as they are tucked into the name tag holders.\r\n\r\nThank you so very much for contributing to the success of my students not only this school year, but every school year to come!","fullyFundedDate":1755716109019,"projectUrl":"project/name-tag-plate-holders/9488923/","projectTitle":"Name Tag Plate Holders!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9697578_orig.jpg?crop=1914,1914,x223,y115&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724292168522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9697578"},{"teacherId":3580386,"projectId":9596850,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, our classroom has become a launchpad for adventure! It has been such a wonderful opportunity to expand our classroom percussion instrument collection and get real instruments into the hands of our youngest learners. The more variety the merrier!\r\n\r\nWe have 4 weeks dedicated to percussion instruments in our classroom. Children are learning that there are different ways to play percussion instruments such as striking or hitting them, scraping them, and shaking them. The are really enjoying passing the instruments around and exploring the different ways they can play them! The are sorting instruments into percussion and not percussion piles. They are sorting instruments by the way they are played and learning that several instruments can be played in more than one way such as hitting and scraping or shaking and scraping.\r\n\r\nUp next, we will be making our own percussion instruments. My goal is to have students create their own percussion instruments and have a mini parade in front of our school or on our playground. If the stars align, I really want to involve students in the high school band. It was like Christmas when the materials arrived. Our TK Class is very curious and notices right away when there is something new in the classroom to explore. \r\n\r\nWith your donation we were able to get sets of weighted blankets and body socks. Both of these provide students that have lots of extra wiggles some \"grounding\", which helps them know where their bodies are in space. Just something as simple as this gives students who need it a little extra support, which increases their focus during whole group learning times. We were also able to get enough dry-erase boards for every student to have one. This increases the amount of individual practice each child has when we are working on drawing pictures of ourselves, shapes, letters, numbers, and name writing. The children are so proud of what they are able to, as they should be!\r\n\r\nThank you again for taking an interest in the 16 amazing individuals that make up our classroom family.
