Research shows that flexible seating arrangements have many benefits including: burning more calories, using up excess energy, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. Studies also link physical activity to academic performance. Researchers found that physical activity increases concentration, mental cognition, and academic performance. Children were more attentive, better behaved, and performed higher scholastically. Anything that can help my students concentrate will help further their education. Instead of students getting up and walking around the room, they can be gently bouncing on a stability ball or wiggle seat while still concentrating on the assignment.
