They were really excited to try all the new things and decorate the room with them. Even as I'm writing this, I think they would really enjoy an interior design project using the new items. \r\nStudents take turns sitting in the floor-rocker chairs. They really enjoy using them during class and sitting with a friend. They have used the corner to have a little bit of a quieter space away from the rest of the class. With the charging stations there, they can do assignments and digital art on their iPads. They can also use drawing boards so they can still do traditional art. The storage space is amazing and the space is just so welcoming.\r\nThe lamp is another student favorite. I can turn off part of the harsh overhead lights and turn the rainbow lamp on and it transforms the mood of the room. It's awesome for the mornings. \r\nWe have used a democratic process to decide how they want to use the space and who gets to sit in the chairs and stools. I can do this every semester to let the students feel control over their space and let everyone have a say. It teaches them to share and create realistic and fair expectations as a group.
