The Little Spot of Feelings book and plush set is one of the most used and loved items in our classroom. Many of my students benefit from movement, sensory input, and strong visual supports to help them regulate emotions, communicate needs, and remain engaged during instruction. The spinning chairs and sensory games have provided students with appropriate opportunities to meet those sensory needs in a safe and structured way, which has helped increase comfort, reduce frustration, improve participation, and create a classroom environment where students feel more secure and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe colored printer has also allowed me to better support students by creating higher-quality visual materials that are clearer, more engaging, and easier for students to access. Being able to provide colorful schedules, adapted activities, communication supports, visuals, and differentiated instructional materials has helped students better understand expectations, navigate routines, and participate more independently. These resources have allowed me to meet students where they are developmentally and provide materials that are more responsive to their individual learning, sensory, and communication needs, ultimately helping students build confidence and experience more success in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1769187230233,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-tools-for-smiles-and-success/9825336/","projectTitle":"Sensory Tools for Smiles and Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stephens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8555408"},{"teacherId":4661232,"projectId":9917013,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our classroom. We read historical fiction books about World War II and the Civil War. We met characters from Japanese Internment camps, Jews being hidden in Denmark, and escaped Union soldiers. With each story, we learned how different groups of people were treated based on their ethnicity. \r\n\r\nThen we read storybooks to teach us how to be better friends to the kids in our class. We learned that some kids are shy and quiet, some are nervous and afraid. While others are just plain selfish. Each of these books gave us a window into someone else's story.
