Having quality headphones has made a big difference in our students' ability to utilize technology based learning platforms to their fullest. \r\n\r\nHere are a few examples of ways students are putting their headphones to good use:\r\n-As they compose written assignments, they are able to listen as their writing is read back to them. This allows them to catch grammar and spelling errors, and correct them.\r\n-They are able to further their comprehension skills as they listen to materials read aloud on platforms such as Readworks. This is especially helpful for students who are auditory learners, or have difficulty reading grade level text. \r\n-Students are able to verbally respond to questions through the use of the microphone embedded in their headphones without having overwhelming background noise from other students. This has been helpful with testing in both English and Spanish. \r\n\r\nThe convenient storage pockets enable students to store headphones in one place, which makes accessibility easier and reduces wear and tear.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make this a great year of learning!","fullyFundedDate":1757610815751,"projectUrl":"project/listening-and-speaking-through-technolog/9603867/","projectTitle":"Listening and Speaking Through Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beamer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9042095_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696616837901","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9042095"},{"teacherId":9549971,"projectId":9300608,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! All 40 of my students have been able to collaborate more effectively because of them. We started off the year with our old furniture that was left in the classroom and a week or so in we were able to get the new tables up for the students to enjoy. I will never forget the level of enthousiasm that entered the room as the students noticed the new additions to our classroom. \r\nWith these new tables students are able to reach the floor and have proper writing position. This has made such a difference because our kindergarten friends do so much with fine motor at the beginning of the year. I have seen such an improvement so far in the year. \r\nWith 40 students coming in during the day (20 in the morning and 20 in the afternoon) I am able to spread students out throughout the tables to a space where they will do their best learning. \r\nThese tables have been such a blessing and wonderful addition to our classroom. I can't wait to see all of the great learning that will be done in our new space.","fullyFundedDate":1753402205096,"projectUrl":"project/getting-cozy-in-our-dli-classroom/9300608/","projectTitle":"Getting Cozy In Our DLI Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Whited","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9549971_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y148&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716474600839","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9549971"},{"teacherId":7559927,"projectId":8316048,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations, our classroom is now filled with engaging new books that have transformed our guided reading groups. Students read in small groups, discuss their ideas, ask questions, and make connections to their own lives and other texts. Each guided reading session is tailored to meet students where they are, giving them just the right level of challenge and support.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has really connected with a mystery series we received he used to dread reading time, but now he's the first to open his book and often asks if we can read \"just one more chapter.\" Another student, a quiet but curious reader, has been inspired to write her own stories based on characters from a historical fiction book she loved.\r\n\r\nYour support has brought new energy to our classroom and made our reading time more meaningful than ever. It has challenged them to practice reading at both home and school, in order to reach higher levels of reading to be able to read our new books and specifically the chapter books.\r\n\r\nThis specific group of students, I had the privilege to teach in Kindergarten. As we moved together to first grade, we stayed in the same classroom, using many of the same materials. Your donation allowed us to purchase an assortment of new picture books, series, and chapter books. They were beyond ecstatic every time I opened a new box of books that were sent to our classroom. \r\n\r\nSince receiving the books, the students have been actively engaged in reading through independent reading, small group rotations, and reading when they finish class work early. Often, many students will stay in from recess so they can have extra time to read. I overhear them often talking with their peers about which new book they have started in a series. I purchased book boxes, and the students have been actively creating and making their own labels for our library. I have included pictures of some of their amazing book labels and organization.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has made such an impact in their educational journey. Thank you for helping provide them with such valuable resources and at such an important age to foster their growth and love for reading.
