Because of your generosity—and the incredible support from the Johnson Ohana Foundation, who matched all donations—my 4th and 5th grade artists were able to dive into a creative Hot Air Balloon project that not only sparked their imagination but also connected them to the world around them.\r\nOur hot air balloon glow project was in honor of the International Balloon Fiesta here in New Mexico. The students were thrilled to combine art with a local cultural event, and the excitement in the room as they painted was contagious! The buzz of students working together, mixed with the \"oohs\" and \"aahs\" when the balloons started to glow under the black lights, was truly unforgettable. It was a special moment for them to see their work come to life and to connect with an event that's so important to our state.\r\nWhen the students first saw the neon paints, their reactions were priceless. They were so excited, with wide eyes and big smiles, ready to get started! It gave them a chance to explore color in a completely new way and express their creativity in ways they hadn't before.\r\nLooking ahead, after Thanksgiving, we'll be using the remaining neon paint to add final details to our gingerbread village. I can't wait to see how their glowing creations will add extra magic to this holiday project!\r\nOnce again, thank you for making this project possible. Your support has helped my students grow as artists while connecting them to meaningful experiences and events that enrich their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1755040755580,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-art-students-glow-and-grow/9549983/","projectTitle":"Help My Art Students Glow... and Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Garlick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10160384_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y555&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754611744417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10160384"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82777","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":339,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":12,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"4 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":82777,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Park Avenue Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Park Avenue Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/aztec-municipal-school-district-2/park-avenue-elementary-school/82777"}
