You made my first year teaching art a successful, fun, and enjoyable year! My students learned about art history, ceramics, painting and drawing and the use of pastels. Additionally, I hosted an Art show for the school in which students could display their projects for their friends and families. \r\n\r\nTeaching art for kindergarten through 8th grade students is a big task, but your donation helped so much as I was able to get a lot of supplies to cover the twenty-three classes I teach. I was able to buy storage bins to organize art materials. This helped foster a learning environment for students to be able to use the art room independently. \r\n\r\nI am so excited to teach my second year of art. This has provided a wonderful opportunity for the students to be more engaged in the storytelling experience. Through the use of the document camera they have been able to get up close and immerse themselves in the books we are ready aloud. \r\n\r\nPrior to having the document camera the students weren't able to see the illustrations and had to imagine what the illustrator drew. Now with the camera they are able to see all of the illustrations, the colors, and to share with others what they are seeing and become a part of the story. \r\n\r\nThe books have helped the students have empathy for others and find new perspectives to everyday situations.
