Your support has given our kids the opportunity to take their creativity and imagination off the page and bring it into the real world.\r\n\r\nThrough our Dungeons & Dragons activities, students have been able to design, create, and print their own characters, creatures, props, and objects for their adventures. What might look like a simple 3D-printed figure to an adult becomes something much more meaningful to a student—it becomes a character they imagined, a world they helped create, and something they can proudly say they made.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has also encouraged students to practice problem-solving, patience, collaboration, and creative thinking. Kids who may not always be excited about traditional classroom activities have found a new reason to participate, share ideas, and work together.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project has shown our students that their imagination has value. They can dream something up, figure out how to make it, and actually hold the finished creation in their hands.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a space where our students can play, create, problem-solve, and discover what they are capable of. By adding new equipment as well as updating older equipment, my students have been able to experience Physical education in new ways! Many of my students have never experienced some of these games or activities before, and this has been an amazing opportunity for them. \r\n\r\nThese students have very little experience in bowling and hockey, which they now got to experience several times this year due to the contributions from Donors Choose. Additionally, they saw that we were able to update some of our older equipment that they had previously loved. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to engaging, hands-on resources that help make learning more interactive and meaningful. When the materials arrived, the students were thrilled to see the new whiteboards, magnetic letters, whisper phones, and hands-on math tools. They couldn't wait to begin using them, and their excitement was contagious.\r\n\r\nWe have already put many of these resources to work during our small-group reading and math intervention lessons. The magnetic letters have helped students practice phonics and spelling patterns, while the whisper phones allow them to hear themselves read more clearly and build fluency. The dry erase paddles and pocket sleeves have increased participation because every student can actively respond and practice skills in a low-pressure way. The addition regrouping kit has also helped students visualize math concepts and gain confidence as problem solvers. One of my favorite moments was watching students eagerly volunteer answers using their whiteboards and proudly sharing their thinking with their classmates.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our intervention work, these materials will support targeted instruction and provide students with additional opportunities to practice and master important reading and math skills. The Recipe for Reading manual will guide intervention lessons, helping struggling readers build foundational literacy skills that will benefit them for years to come.
