Your donations have made a world of difference—not just to me as an educator, but to every student who walks through my classroom door. Because of your kindness, our school year is off to a strong, well-equipped, and positive start.\r\n\r\nAs many of you may know, teachers often reach into their own pockets to make sure their classrooms have the supplies they need. Thanks to your support, I was able to provide essential materials without carrying that financial burden myself. Items like pencils, pens, tissues, and band-aids may seem small, but they are the day-to-day basics that keep a classroom running smoothly. Having these supplies on hand means fewer interruptions to learning and more time spent engaging in meaningful instruction.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the basics, your donations also helped us bring a little fun and color into the classroom—literally! I was thrilled to be able to stock up on colored copy paper, which I love using for student work. Bright, colorful paper helps make assignments more engaging and fun for students. It's amazing how something as simple as switching from white to blue or pink paper can grab their attention and boost their interest. Colored paper also plays a big role in how I organize classwork. For example, when working on essays, it's so much easier (and more effective) to say, \"Take out your purple, green, and blue sheets,\" rather than list off each component of the writing process. It saves time, reduces confusion, and helps students feel more confident in their work.\r\n\r\nYour support also helped me enhance our classroom environment, creating a space where students feel safe, calm, and welcomed. I was able to refresh our calming corner with a new, cozy rug and add new activities that support emotional regulation. This space is especially important for students who may need a moment to breathe, reset, or manage their emotions in a safe, supportive way. It's just one more way your generosity is helping me meet the needs of the whole child—not just academically, but emotionally as well.\r\n\r\nStarting the school year fully stocked and prepared has lifted such a weight off my shoulders. Not only do I not have to worry about finding funds for supplies, but I also don't need to send students to other classrooms or the front office to borrow things. That means fewer disruptions and more time spent focusing on what truly matters: learning, growing, and building a strong classroom community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for being part of the village that helps make this all possible. Your kindness has had a direct and lasting impact on my students, and for that, I am endlessly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1755897483383,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-for-bright-futures/9528366/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials for Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6011854_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754600194222","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6011854"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_98785","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":520,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":98,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":74.7,"schoolId":98785,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr Joseph F Pollack Academic Center of Excellence on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dr Joseph F Pollack Academic Center of Excellence","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/michigan-department-of-education/pace-academy/98785"}
