From the moment students saw Charlie swimming in his new tank, their excitement filled the room. Naming him gave them a sense of ownership and connection, sparking curiosity that has carried into every lesson. \r\n\r\nThrough Charlie, students are exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in meaningful, hands-on ways. They study his habitat and the science of ecosystems, use technology to track water temperature and pH, and apply math to measure tank dimensions and calculate feeding schedules. In art and engineering, they design and decorate Charlie's environment while learning how filters and aeration systems function. \r\n\r\nStudents also take turns carrying Charlie home on weekends, gaining real-world experience in responsibility and animal care, and they help clean the aquarium when needed to maintain a healthy habitat. \r\n\r\nNext, students will work in teams to design \"Charlie's Dream Habitat,\" integrating everything they have learned across all STEAM areas. Tech, Tanks, and Tomorrow's Leaders has truly inspired creativity, critical thinking, and leadership, showing students that even one small fish can spark big ideas.","fullyFundedDate":1754834297136,"projectUrl":"project/tech-tanks-and-tomorrows-leaders/9552395/","projectTitle":"“Tech, Tanks, and Tomorrow’s Leaders”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sullen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2427422_orig.jpg?crop=185,185,x0,y25&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754588984159","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/supersullen"},{"teacherId":6228298,"projectId":4835732,"letterContent":"Thanks to you, our students aren't just reading—they're discovering.
