Because of your kindness, our classroom now has a sensory swing, bean bag chairs, a massage chair pad, and a vibrating neck pad—all of which are already making a significant impact on my students' daily lives.\r\nMany of my students face challenges with self-regulation, focus, and managing the emotions that come with being in a busy classroom environment. For them, having access to sensory tools isn't just a comfort—it is a necessity. These resources help them calm their bodies and minds, which allows them to return to their work ready to learn. Thanks to your donation, I am now able to provide them with spaces and tools that meet their sensory needs in ways we could not before.","fullyFundedDate":1746807822082,"projectUrl":"project/access-to-resources-for-a-sensory-diet/9165236/","projectTitle":"Access to Resources for a Sensory Diet","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ferguson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3301259_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716497089548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/davitaferguson"},{"teacherId":3301259,"projectId":8548553,"letterContent":"My students, their families, and I want to thank you for donating to our classroom. With the donation of these supplies, the students want to be more independent with their daily living skills. They are excited to brush their teeth after breakfast and lunch. They do not need anyone to remind them. The students rush to the bathroom to brush their hair. The hair brushing was not a big hit in the classroom at first. I wrote each student's name on a hairbrush and then styled some students' hair. This was fun for them and now they insist on brushing their own hair. Our students also enjoy helping with laundry each week. They wash their faces and of course those washcloths need to be washed. They are learning how to use a washer and dryer. \r\nThe parents appreciate the time and effort that is being put in. There are times when the parents are running late because they must get their child ready for school. Now that their child can do this at school parents have one less thing to do. My hope is that these skills carry over to home for all of the students.","fullyFundedDate":1731505200694,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-strengthen-our-daily-living-skil/8548553/","projectTitle":"Help Us Strengthen Our Daily Living Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ferguson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3301259_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716497089548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/davitaferguson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46979","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":55,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.2,"schoolId":46979,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oscar J Pope Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oscar J Pope Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/oscar-j-pope-elementary-school/46979"}
