Students would ask me at the end of class, \"Are you bringing the pianos back?\" They really loved using them.\r\nOne of my classes made me a list of their top ten favorite songs and I picked the most accessible song for each student to learn to play chords charts for. To go beyond playing \"Twinkle Twinkle\" and play songs that really meant something personal to them, it was such an \"aha!\" moment. \r\nThey didn't just want to play their songs for me, they wanted to play their songs for other teachers too. The lightbulb went off that they can take music home and play chord charts for any song they like. They beamed with accomplishment from this project. This was not something I have been able to accomplish on ukulele or drums, though I have tried. \r\n\r\nThank you, from the bottom of my heart, for gifting the students a way to express themselves musically and emotionally.
