They come in handy for any sort of movement activity. For example, the third grade was recently working on learning the difference between locomotor and non-locomotor movement and I used the drums to provide a steady beat and to give our \"freeze\" cue. I look forward to doing more rhythmic activities this year where the students will get to play rhythms on the drums themselves. With your help we were able to purchase a classroom set of boomwhackers. Boomwhackers are colorful tubes that are pitched to the musical scale and play when tapped on the floor or your hand. You funded a beautiful set of composer posters that are inclusive and representative of so many of my students. As a music teacher, I have found so many composer posters in the past that tend to feature only classical composers and those who come from similar backgrounds. These posters are special because they feature, female composers, Black composers, Film composers, and LGBTQ+ composers.
