When the materials arrived, the students were incredibly excited to learn that they could earn a special treat as a reward for their hard work. It was wonderful to see their faces light up when they realized their efforts were recognized and supported by people who care about their education.\r\n\r\nThis boost made a huge difference in our final unit, where students were tasked with creating a comprehensive presentation on an adopted organism affected by ocean acidification. They had to model both the macro-view (ecosystem and organism level) and micro-view (the chemistry aspects) of how acidification impacts their chosen sea life. Thanks to the extra motivation, the resulting presentations were nothing short of amazing! You could clearly see how much research, thought, and care went into every single detail.\r\n\r\nMost meaningfully, this initiative brought out phenomenal work from students who had struggled to stay engaged earlier in the year. Seeing them take pride in their work and step up when it mattered most proved what I knew all along—that they had this potential inside them all along. Your generosity helped make that spark possible, and I hope this experience inspires them to carry a lifelong passion for science.","fullyFundedDate":1778597284445,"projectUrl":"project/incentives-for-chemistry/10017061/","projectTitle":"Incentives for Chemistry","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10243790"},{"teacherId":10243790,"projectId":9688013,"letterContent":"I am writing to share the incredible impact your generosity has had on our classroom. The introduction of new chargers and motivational stickers has completely transformed how my students engage with our daily lessons. Previously, the lack of reliable power was a major barrier; now, having dedicated chargers has unlocked the consistent use of technology in my classroom. While many students see technology as a tool for entertainment at home, they are now discovering its power for creation and problem-solving in school.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students has been the ability to dive into interactive learning without the fear of a dead battery. They are using their devices to practice with virtual lab simulators and platforms like Snorkl, Blooket, and Waygrounds to further their knowledge. These tools make abstract concepts much more tangible and have significantly boosted assignment completion rates.\r\n\r\nBeyond the tech, the stickers have been a massive hit! They have become a wonderful motivator to keep students on task. I've noticed that several students who previously struggled to stay focused have especially warmed to these new supplies. One student in particular, who often hesitated to participate, is now much more engaged and eager to earn a sticker for their hard work. Your support hasn't just provided \"stuff\"; it has provided a bridge to confidence and a deeper love for learning.\r\nIn the photos attached, you will see a Smore Lab that was conducted by the aid of the tools provided.","fullyFundedDate":1764627794764,"projectUrl":"project/equipping-my-students-with-tools-for-suc/9688013/","projectTitle":"Equipping My Students with Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10243790"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92618","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1710,"numTeachers":78,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":45.7,"schoolId":92618,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Orange High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Orange High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/orange-unified-school-district/orange-high-school/92618"}
