I have enrolled 16 students in this ten-week course this fall. Each week, we prepare a different dish. Some students who enrolled in the class told me they were surprised that we would \"actually\" be cooking food in the class-- they thought we would just be talking about recipes! They were thrilled to find out that we had cooktops, nice new cookware, and plenty of cooking tools.\r\n\r\nSo far, we have made brown butter rice krispy treats, linguine with tomatoes and basil, pancakes, migas, fettuccine alfredo, and tomato soup and grilled cheese. Today we will be making a chickpea curry with pumpkin and lime! Students are loving this class-- many tell me that they look forward to it every week. Because of these materials, I was able to transform my classroom into a viable cooking space, and I am so grateful!\r\n\r\nNow that I have these supplies, I will be able to continue offering this elective course in future semesters.
