Because of your generosity, my students were able to move beyond simply imagining their ideas and begin turning them into real, tangible creations. The Bambu P1S 3D printer, airbrush station, and hot wire foam cutting tools gave my class opportunities to design, prototype, test, revise, and improve their work. Many of my students learned that their first idea does not have to be their final idea. Instead, they became more comfortable experimenting, learning from mistakes, and adapting their designs when something did not work as planned.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these tools extended far beyond their projects. I have seen growth in students' confidence, while tapping into their own individual creativity, problem-solving skills, and overall communication skills. As a result, students are taking greater ownership of their learning and are more willing to challenge themselves while sharing ideas with their fellow classmates. Most importantly, these experiences are helping students see themselves as capable designers, makers, and problem solvers.\r\n\r\nSeveral of my students from last year have already come by this year to use the equipment your generous support provided. My teaching assignment at On Track Academy has changed this school year, but my plan remains the same as I continue to work with at risk youth; helping them to see their potential and tap into their curiosity and sense of wonder. These tools will help in creating a safe place where students can take creative risks, develop real-world skills, and experience the pride that comes from transforming an idea into something they designed and built themselves.
