These devices have opened up new opportunities to explore music in ways we couldn't have done without them.\r\n\r\nThe tablets are helping scholars of all ages (K-5th grade) by giving access to digital music apps that teach rhythm, melody, and even composition in an engaging and fun way. \r\n\r\nThe technology has also helped some scholars who are not as likely to participate in whole group activities to find a comfortable place to explore music. It's been really amazing to see them take to learning music in a different way!\r\n\r\nThank you for bringing technology to life in our classroom. These resources have helped improve our class lessons and brought new excitement to practicing rhythms.\r\n\r\nFrom the second the scholars saw the buckets and sticks, they've been so excited to learn to use them and to create and practice rhythms. We started our unit by reading the donated book, \"Max Found Two Sticks.\" From there, the scholars learned to read drumming notation, learned multiple ways to use the sticks on the drums, and have created some of their own rhythms to play as well.\r\n\r\nThe best part of having these resources was watching their faces as they realized they truly know how to read music and what that translates to when they're drumming up rhythms. They are so eager to continue learning, experimenting, and composing rhythms using the supplies you've generously donated.","fullyFundedDate":1746785690009,"projectUrl":"project/drumming-up-success-bucket-drums-for-a/9195839/","projectTitle":"Drumming Up Success: Bucket Drums for a Creative Music Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9573804_orig.jpg?crop=907,907,x84,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718949651836","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9573804"},{"teacherId":9573804,"projectId":9339956,"letterContent":"Having a start for a music classroom library has been a game changer! We have been back in school for two weeks now, and my kids are absolutely loving the ability to draw connections between books and music! We have used some of the purchased books to create music, learn some musical theory techniques in different ways, and learned a little about composers. \r\n\r\nGenerally, reading looks like me reading aloud to the kids and them creating sound effects with specific instruments or answering questions about the text. As the year goes on, the books will be used as early finisher options and helping with researching composers, musicians, and different genres of music. \r\n\r\nI'm especially excited to see the joy in my 4th and 5th grade scholars.
