With having 28, 4th grade scholars in our classroom, it already creates a very filled space. Scholars bring musical instruments, lunch boxes, and backpacks everyday. We don't have desks in our class, but tables. There isn't much room to move about between the tables and chairs when scholars have to put their backpacks on their chairs. Having a backpack storage area will allow scholars to move about more freely. It will help prevent trips and falls too. I can move around to help scholars better at their tables and they won't be distracted by the things in their backpacks. When there are less distractions, scholars are more likely to succeed during instruction and I can spend more time teaching. It's a win win for all!
