Something as simple as having the right tools made them feel like \"real writers,\" and they couldn't wait to get started.\r\n\r\nWe now use the dry erase sentence strip boards daily during our foundational skills block. Students listen carefully during auditory drills, practice new phonics and spelling patterns, and then immediately apply what they learn by writing and expanding sentences on their boards. One of my favorite moments was watching a hesitant writer proudly hold up a complete sentence and say, \"I did it all by myself!\" The boards make learning hands-on, interactive, and low-pressure—students are more willing to take risks, revise their work, and try again.","fullyFundedDate":1755728158494,"projectUrl":"project/sharp-minds-bright-writing-tools-for-d/9497284/","projectTitle":"Sharp Minds, Bright Writing: Tools for Daily Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4552187_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1514944583749","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-elsamena"},{"teacherId":4552187,"projectId":9425089,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom has truly blossomed into a space where students feel comfortable, confident, and excited to read.\r\n\r\nWe are using the flower floor pillows daily in our library center. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students eagerly choose a pillow, curl up with a book, and whisper, \"This feels like reading at home.\" The cozy setup has helped students relax and stay engaged during independent reading time. The clipboards have been a game changer during writing activities—students move around the room to find word walls, classroom labels, and mentor texts, all while staying focused and motivated. At our small-group table, the stackable stools allow students to quickly transition between stations and sit comfortably as they receive targeted, level-based instruction.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. Smiles, cheers, and careful choosing of \"just the right spot\" filled the room. They felt proud of their classroom and eager to use the new resources. Many students asked if we could use the pillows \"every day,\" which speaks volumes about how welcomed and valued they felt.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps include deepening reading comprehension during small-group lessons, building stamina during independent reading, and strengthening writing skills through hands-on, movement-based activities. As we continue our current literacy units, students are practicing decoding, fluency, and comprehension while developing a genuine love for reading in a space that feels safe, inviting, and joyful.","fullyFundedDate":1754082826397,"projectUrl":"project/reading-in-bloom-flower-pillows-flexi/9425089/","projectTitle":"Reading in Bloom: Flower Pillows & Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4552187_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1514944583749","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-elsamena"},{"teacherId":8976952,"projectId":9360182,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students have been able to stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn each day! The snacks, waters, and hand wipes you helped provide have made such a positive difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause our lunch isn't until 1:15, having snacks available in the morning has been a huge help. Many of my students come to school without snacks, and by late morning they are hungry and distracted. Now, they know they can count on a healthy snack and water to keep them going. \r\n\r\nWe enjoy our snack time together before lunch, and the hand wipes have helped us keep clean before and after eating.
