Thanks to your generosity, we are able to provide clothing, hygiene products, and other everyday necessities to students who might otherwise go without. These resources allow students to focus on learning rather than worrying about basic needs.\r\n\r\nWe use the Cares Closet regularly to support students in a quiet and respectful way. When a student needs something—whether it's warm clothing for the Michigan weather, hygiene supplies, or other essentials—we can immediately connect them with the closet. One particularly meaningful moment occurred when a student who had been struggling with attendance stopped by the closet and was able to pick out clean clothes and personal care items. The change in their confidence was noticeable, and they returned to class that day feeling more comfortable and ready to participate.\r\n\r\nWhen students first learned about the Cares Closet and saw the available resources, many were surprised and relieved. Several shared how grateful they were that the school had a space where they could get what they needed without feeling embarrassed. It created a sense of support and community, reminding students that their well-being matters.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than provide supplies—it has helped create an environment where students feel cared for and valued. When students have access to these essentials, they can focus more fully on their education, participate in classroom activities, and feel a greater sense of belonging at school.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue expanding awareness of the Cares Closet so that more students know it is available to them. We are also working with staff to ensure that students can access the resources easily and discreetly whenever the need arises. Our goal is to keep building a supportive environment where every student has what they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for making such a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Your generosity truly helps remove barriers to learning and allows our students to come to school with confidence and dignity.","fullyFundedDate":1767135561628,"projectUrl":"project/knights-caring-closet/9680052/","projectTitle":"Knights Caring Closet","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8471715_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1652490368525","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8471715"},{"teacherId":8471715,"projectId":9342918,"letterContent":"The office supplies I received have been such a huge help in keeping my professional learning organized and effective. Having the right tools—binders, planners, storage materials, and note-taking supplies—has allowed me to streamline my group planning, track student progress more efficiently, and take meaningful notes during professional development sessions. With everything organized, I've been able to focus more on reflection and implementing new strategies in my social work classroom rather than scrambling to find materials. These resources have helped me stay intentional, prepared, and creative in my teaching practice.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when my students noticed my new organizational setup and how smoothly lessons flowed. They commented on how \"we always seem to have what we need right away\" and how calm the office felt. Because I was better prepared and had my materials ready, transitions were faster, and I could devote more time to small-group instruction and one-on-one support. Their engagement and confidence grew because our learning time was structured, yet flexible and purposeful—a direct reflection of how much more efficient and inspired I've become thanks to your support. I'm currently excited to deepen my skills in integrating mindfulness and social-emotional learning strategies across all subjects. I've seen how powerful these practices can be for student focus and well-being, and I'm eager to learn more about connecting them to academic growth. I'm also looking forward to exploring creative ways to help students set goals, reflect on their learning, and take ownership of their progress. With the organization and structure these new supplies provide, I feel ready to take my social work teaching—and my students' learning—to the next level.","fullyFundedDate":1756301970197,"projectUrl":"project/mindful-art-healing-pd-for-a-trauma-i/9342918/","projectTitle":"Mindful Art & Healing: PD for a Trauma-Informed Social Worker","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8471715_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1652490368525","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8471715"},{"teacherId":8471715,"projectId":9342234,"letterContent":"We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support of our Mindful Art supplies for Students.
