In a Title I school, the challenges our students face often extend beyond the curriculum, and hunger is a frequent barrier to focus and success. Your support ensures that when a student's stomach starts to growl during a long afternoon of problem-solving or reading, I can provide them with the nourishment they need to stay engaged. It is transformative to see a child's energy shift from fatigue to focus simply because their basic needs were met with kindness.\r\n\r\nThese snacks are more than just food; they represent a supportive community that believes in my students' potential. By removing the distraction of hunger, you have helped create an environment where every child feels cared for and ready to learn. My students were so excited to see the new supplies arrive, and the sense of relief in the classroom is palpable. Thank you for investing in their well-being and for being such a vital part of our learning journey this year.","fullyFundedDate":1770128969623,"projectUrl":"project/feeding-the-need-to-succeed/10043687/","projectTitle":"Feeding the Need to Succeed","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eberhardy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10186186_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768904634709","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10186186"},{"teacherId":9097051,"projectId":9718664,"letterContent":"The donated headphones have made an immediate and meaningful impact on my classroom. Technology plays a large role in how students learn today, and these headphones allow students to fully access digital learning tools without distractions. Students use them during reading interventions, math practice, research projects, and testing. Being able to clearly hear instructions, videos, and feedback helps students stay focused and better understand the material at their own pace.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is having their own set of headphones that actually work well. They feel more independent and responsible, and they love being able to fully immerse themselves in learning programs without background noise from the classroom. Something as simple as clear sound has made learning feel more engaging and less frustrating for them.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from the headphones. My students who struggle with attention, reading comprehension, or sensory overload have shown noticeable improvement. With headphones on, they are calmer, more focused, and more confident. English language learners and students receiving additional academic support are able to replay instructions and lessons as needed, which has greatly increased their confidence and participation.","fullyFundedDate":1759093868658,"projectUrl":"project/tuning-in-to-learning-headphones-for-ev/9718664/","projectTitle":"Tuning in to Learning: Headphones for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Daniel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9097051_orig.jpg?crop=631,631,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758044261917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9097051"},{"teacherId":10186186,"projectId":9618443,"letterContent":"When the new STEM materials arrived, my students' faces absolutely lit up. They were eager to dive in and start exploring right away. The classroom buzzed with excitement as they unpacked the interlocking discs, magnetic tiles, gears, and building sets. One student even exclaimed, \"This is the best morning ever!\"\r\n\r\nNow, each morning begins with creativity and imagination. Students use the materials to build whatever inspires them that day—castles, cars, animals, robots, and even miniature towns. It's been incredible to watch them collaborate, share ideas, and problem-solve together as their creations come to life. The sense of pride they feel when showing off their work to classmates has been so rewarding to see.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when a small group of students combined different materials to make a working Ferris wheel. They cheered when it finally stood on its own, and others gathered around to admire their creation and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our mornings now begin with curiosity, collaboration, and joy. These materials have transformed our classroom into a space where creativity thrives. I am so eager to see my students continue to explore new ways to design, build, and create--pushing their imaginations even further each day.","fullyFundedDate":1756577530355,"projectUrl":"project/starting-the-day-the-stem-way/9618443/","projectTitle":"Starting the Day the STEM Way","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eberhardy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10186186_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768904634709","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10186186"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57703","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":531,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":70.3,"schoolId":57703,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oak Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oak Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/turner-unified-school-district-202/oak-grove-elementary-school/57703"}
