We use it daily during our morning meetings, read-alouds, and small group activities. Having a dedicated, cheerful spot for students to sit helps with organization and classroom management, and it makes transitions much smoother. During our literacy block, students gather on the rug to listen to stories and share their thinking with partners, which creates a sense of community and excitement for learning. One of our favorite moments so far was using the rug during a story sequencing activity—students were able to physically place story cards on different spots around the rug, making the lesson interactive and fun.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug, they were beyond excited! They immediately noticed the bright colors and happy faces and couldn't wait to find \"their spot.\" Many of them commented that it made the classroom feel cozy and inviting. The rug has quickly become one of their favorite places to learn. Looking ahead, we will continue using the rug to support our current reading lessons by holding turn-and-talk discussions and acting out parts of stories to build comprehension skills.","fullyFundedDate":1749407875192,"projectUrl":"project/a-comfy-rug-building-our-dream-classroo/9388049/","projectTitle":"A Comfy Rug: Building Our Dream Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luttinger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9613326_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748752186050","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9613326"},{"teacherId":6490699,"projectId":8758291,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations. They are able to utilize and practice the strategies taught, so when they are feeling angry or upset, they are now able to self sooth. \r\n\r\nI am amazed at their growth and it brings me joy to see how happy they are that these materials are in their space.
