It's been a game changer for them to have manipulatives and feel comfort in a space that feels like it's just for them. School can be overwhelming for students in many different ways, and having a true safe space in the building means so much to them. These supplies have helped create an environment where students feel welcomed, supported, and understood. Many of the children we serve struggle with anxiety, emotional regulation, grief, trauma, behavioral concerns, and other mental health challenges. Having access to sensory tools, therapeutic games, art supplies, and comfort items helps them engage more fully in sessions, express themselves in age-appropriate ways, and develop healthy coping skills. We regularly see students arrive feeling overwhelmed or dysregulated and leave sessions feeling calmer, more confident, and better equipped to return to the classroom. Your generosity has a direct impact on their emotional well-being and ability to succeed both academically and socially. Thank you for investing in these students and helping us provide resources that make a meaningful difference in their lives every day.","fullyFundedDate":1780249665486,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-tools-for-the-successful-c/10114475/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Tools for the Successful Child","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nava","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4466395_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565126345131","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4466395"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6625","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":805,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.5,"schoolId":6625,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Northwood Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Northwood Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/greenville-county-schools/northwood-middle-school/6625"}
