This project was definitely successful. \r\n\r\nThe students were super excited to engage with all the new materials. The sensory table was a bigger hit than even I anticipated. The hexagonal shape naturally gave 6 students the opportunity to interact with each other at the same time. Not only was it used for typical sensory activities but also science experiments like trying different melting agents to determine what melted ice the quickest. The other advantage was the sensory table could be place on the floor, on the table, or easily moved outside. It also was easy access for those with physical disabilities to participate with peers all while learning. The art trays are also multifunctional and have been used in art, science, and building/creating. The art trays, sensory discovery tray, and fantasy blocks helped encourage imagination, creativity, and increase intrinsic learning.\r\n\r\nAlthough the salad spinner was an odd request, it was used to paint, mix colors, as well as increase motor skills, take turns, share, collaborate, and use language. In my class we have several students with ASD as well as several others with varying disabilities and that same spinner is helping them reach their IEP goals. \r\n\r\nThe set of 3 books is helping students recognize, manage, and regulate their feelings/emotions, which is key for future educational success along with lifelong happiness. The anchor chart and Alphabet Learning toy has enhanced children's understanding of letters/colors/shapes, and improved children's hand-eye coordination. Specifically it has helped over 80% of the class reach the goal of recognizing patterns, copying patterns, and extending patterns.","fullyFundedDate":1768338668067,"projectUrl":"project/elevating-pre-k-instruction/10000808/","projectTitle":"Elevating Pre-K Instruction","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Laura Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9350531"},{"teacherId":8129045,"projectId":9996635,"letterContent":"Thank you from our class of special education 3 and 4-year-olds for the materials you've given us to support our learning. In our class, we are working on our social-emotional skills through communication and regulating our emotions. We are practicing our friendship skills by sharing and taking turns, using our fine and gross motor skills to get stronger, and practicing our academic skills with numbers, letters, shapes, and colors. We are learning through play!\r\nWe received a foam ramp and ball set that the kids have really enjoyed. We have been able to build many different combinations of ramps to figure out how to make the ball go the farthest. Our special education students like to play alone, so this has helped them with STEM building, problem-solving, and social skills as we are working together. It has been fun for us to identify the shapes and colors of the blocks and use directions and positional words too.\r\nWe also received many sensory items including bubble tubes, sensory learning items, huggable turtle animal, and sensory lights. Our students have enjoyed the bubble tubes by turning them over and watching the glitter and bubbles rise to the top and bottom. Our students hold the weighted animals and use the light-up animals when they need a break and want to calm down. These items have been enjoyed in our classroom and are used daily.\r\nWe received a little people school bus to put play animals and people inside. It also plays educational music including the ABCs and lights up. The kids have enjoyed putting people on the bus and moving it around while it plays music. The students try to hum along or sing the ABCs. We have been working on our communication skills as we describe people and vehicles. Thank you for helping our students continue to enjoy learning through play!","fullyFundedDate":1768148570240,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-sensory-stem/9996635/","projectTitle":"Preschool Sensory & STEM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Richardson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8129045"},{"teacherId":8185709,"projectId":9986640,"letterContent":"Having a multicultural library in a Pre-K classroom can have a powerful, long-lasting impact on young children—academically, socially, and emotionally. They immediately started brainstorming recipes, asking if they could try out new decorating techniques, and even pretending to run their own bakery. Their enthusiasm made it clear that these resources will inspire countless learning opportunities.\r\nclassroom lesson or project?\r\nNext, we'll be starting a \"Bakery Business Project.\" Students will work in teams to plan, design, and \"sell\" their own bakery creations.
