Because of your generosity, these new resources have become an important part of our classroom routine.\r\n\r\nWe are using the food prep counters for our weekly cooking lessons. They have been wonderful for collaborative group work and are very easy to sanitize between activities. The students work together to prepare simple meals while practicing important life skills like following directions, measuring ingredients, and cleaning up their workspace. These lessons help them build independence and confidence in a hands-on way.\r\n\r\nThe second table has become our hygiene station. Students use the mirrors to practice their daily hygiene routines such as combing their hair, checking their appearance, and organizing their personal care items. These small routines are incredibly important for building self-confidence and preparing students for school, work, and independent living.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate. One student was so happy that they ran up and gave the table a big hug. Another student quickly moved their personal hygiene box over to the table and immediately began using the mirrors to go through their hygiene routine! It was a special moment to see how eager they were to start using these new tools!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on these life skills each week through cooking and hygiene practice. Our next goal is to create a sensory space for our life skills middle school and high school students. This space will help support emotional regulation, focus, and overall well-being so that students are ready to learn and participate in daily activities.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to practice real-world skills and grow in confidence every day.
