Students are learning to follow step-by-step directions, practice fine motor skills, make choices, and create their own soaps and candles. Each activity provides an opportunity to build independence, develop confidence, and experience the joy of completing a project. Seeing our students take pride in their creations reminds us how important it is to provide opportunities for learning through hands-on experiences.\r\nOur students were excited and curious when they first saw the materials! They were eager to explore the different supplies, colors, and scents and discover what they could create. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the experience even more rewarding. It was wonderful to see them engaged, asking questions, making choices, and looking forward to creating something of their own. These materials helped turn learning into an exciting, meaningful experience that encouraged participation and confidence.\r\nOur next steps are to continue developing our students' independence by giving them more opportunities to participate in each step of the soap and candle-making process. Students will practice following directions, identifying materials, making choices, and completing tasks with increasing independence. We also hope to help them understand how these skills connect to everyday life and future vocational opportunities. Most importantly, we want our students to continue building confidence, celebrating their accomplishments, and recognizing that they are capable of creating wonderful things.
