A class set of tuners has been on my wish list for years and it's great to see them finally available to the students. Students immediately took interest in how to use them when I introduced them to my classes. As soon as students began working with them they were motivated to improve their intonation.\r\n\r\nOne benefit of dedicated tuners is it allows for students to keep their phones away. It is hard to justify spending money on tuners when every student actually has one. It is also difficult to tell students to keep their phones off their stands when they may be legitimately using them for classroom instruction. Having dedicated equipment helps keep students focused in class. \r\n\r\nAnother great benefit of the tuners is students can see a visual representation of what \"in tune\" means. It's no longer an abstract concept. They can see what flat and sharp sound like. This is important for developing greater tonal awareness as they grow as musicians. I have seen the idea click for numerous students since we started working with these tuners.","fullyFundedDate":1764173181881,"projectUrl":"project/tuners-and-contact-microphones/9857991/","projectTitle":"Tuners and Contact Microphones","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Porter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10231948"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46908","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1684,"numTeachers":84,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":46908,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Northeast High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Northeast High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/northeast-high-school/46908"}
