With the laminator, laminating sheets, and printer ink, I am able to create durable learning materials such as literacy centers, math games, and task cards that students can use repeatedly throughout the year. The printer ink also allows me to print materials for our classroom focus wall, including vocabulary cards, phonics patterns, and anchor charts that students can refer to throughout the week to support their learning.\r\n\r\nMy students were especially excited to see these new materials being used during our daily lessons and centers. The laminator has been one of the most exciting additions because it allows us to turn simple printed activities into reusable learning tools. Students enjoy using dry erase markers on laminated activities because they can practice skills, erase their work, and try again without worrying about making mistakes.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have also been especially helpful for students who need extra practice and support. The reusable materials allow them to build confidence as they practice important reading, writing, and math skills multiple times. Having pencils and erasers readily available also ensures every student has the tools they need to fully participate in their learning. Thank you for helping create a classroom environment where students can actively engage with their learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769177869734,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-tools-that-keep-students-learn/9978194/","projectTitle":"Classroom Tools that Keep Students Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cruz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10178208_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x0,y137&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767399003155","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10178208"},{"teacherId":1904275,"projectId":9784832,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my third-grade students are using the rolling cart and snap-closed folders every day during math and science. Each student now has a place to store math journals, supplies, and ongoing work, which has made transitions between subjects smoother and more efficient. During a recent science lesson, students were able to quickly grab their materials and begin the tasks right away, giving us more time for hands-on learning and discussion.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were excited and eager to use them. They proudly labeled their folders and talked about how the cart would help them stay organized like \"real scientists and mathematicians.\" Several students shared how happy they were that their work would stay safe and not get lost. Seeing their excitement and responsibility grow was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our math and science units, students are using these resources to keep track of multi-step problem-solving work, data charts, experiments, and reflections. Now each child has his/her own headphones that cut down on classroom noise. With your help, my students successfully communicate their ideas. From the large crayons that fit perfectly in their small hands, to the markers that have helped them write, and the play dough tools that helps build a vivid imagination while strengthening their fine motor muscles at the same time, my students have been able to flourish within the classroom setting. \r\nMany of my students came in this year with fine motor needs. When a student is unable to grip a pencil or crayon properly, the marks that happen on the paper are usually quite difficult to see and unrecognizable. Additionally, regular size crayons break very easily under the pressure of a Kindergarteners' grip. The large crayons have held under pressure and the markers help make marks seen. This gives students a sense accomplishment. \r\nI have 36 students all together. We have used the materials daily since we received them. With continued strengthening of the fine motor muscles, each student successfully created a birthday card for our principal all by themselves. Copying my model, they each wrote Happy Birthday on the front of the card. On the inside, they drew her pictures. They were also curious about how to spell other things they wanted to say to her, so I modeled how to write their compliments, so they could let her know. She was so surprised to receive all the love on her special day. It make the students feel so special that they could write a birthday card. The gift cards used from this projected allowed me to fund extra curricular activities for my students, to keep them engaged in learning through the end of school. Some of the activities I was able to get from TPT was a unit lesson on Solid, liquid, and Gas. We dove into the world of matter and learned what matter was. We had fun experiments to go along with our lessons. One was making Oobleck, where we had to determine if it was a liquid or a solid, then our next experiment was how to make a gas, by using baking soda, vinger, and a balloon. But I think my students favorite experment was when we made rootbeer floats. They were able to take our solid(ice cream) and pour in our liquid ( rootbeer) to make a gas at the top of their floats (the bubbles). They really enjoyed tasting their learnings as well!! \r\nWe also explored apples and used measurement and data to explore them. And used mashmellow peeps to explore our five senses!
