The donated books, bookmarks and book shelve organizers have truly benefited my class and special populations group of students. Since we received the donations, our young adults have logged in a higher percentage at our NSSH Mustang Library :) Their self independence has advanced tremendously and we could not have done it without your donations. \r\n\r\n I have also continued to implement a reading program in my curricullum \"Starbooks Mode\" and utilize the last 15 minutes of class for my students to find peace, cuddle up with good book and decompress to prepare for their next class. Their increase engagement motivated me to provide a monthly incentive on their excellent involvment. In celebrating the new year 2025, we ignited our very own FIREWORKS and partnered up with our campus Library staff' and hosted our very first Starbooks Cafe Tasting Event. Our young adults years 16 to 20 years old had the opportunity to socialize with their peers, read a variety of books, rate each book on an activity booklet while enjoying a sweet treat and a warm cup of hot chocolate. \r\n\r\n I am happy to announce that my Career Prep students are now taking the initiative and adding this monthly event to their Google calendars, which is awesome to see them take such a huge interest in the event. Please take time to view the images below and from my heart to yours, thank you for helping me level up my students bookworm journey as they educate themselves on future careers.","fullyFundedDate":1727993526054,"projectUrl":"project/starting-a-new-chapter-towards-the-job-m/8838215/","projectTitle":"Starting a New Chapter Towards the Job Market","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yanez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8563348_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721949248354","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-yanez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12201","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2500,"numTeachers":301,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"11 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":12201,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Shore Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Shore Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/galena-park-independent-school-district/north-shore-senior-high-school/12201"}
