These are the students who often feel overwhelmed by traditional literature, but your donation has given them exciting new entry points into the joy of reading. We've been thrilled to see a growing number of these students, who might typically avoid the library altogether, now confidently walking up to the desk, eager to check out a book. Seeing them instantly connect with a story based on a favorite game, movie, or superhero has been the most encouraging part of the school year. Your gift has proven that the right book at the right time is the key to unlocking a lifelong love of reading.\r\n\r\nThe variety of titles we purchased thanks to you is truly making a difference. The collection is packed with thrilling options, from action-packed Dungeons & Dragons stories to highly popular novelizations like those based on The Mandalorian. Our students are also loving the superhero narratives, with titles like Miles Morales: Stranger Tides and Ms. Marvel: Stretched Thin barely staying on the shelf. And for those who love animation, the new books with popular Disney movie tie-ins, such as Bravely and Prince of Song & Sea, are huge successes. These books are vibrant, fun, and immediately engaging, proving that reading doesn't always have to feel like homework. Thank you for helping us turn \"I don't like reading\" into \"What do I get to read next?\" We couldn't do this essential work without your commitment.","fullyFundedDate":1680216561724,"projectUrl":"project/marvelous-stories-and-fantastic-quests/7259882/","projectTitle":"Marvelous Stories and Fantastic Quests","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5885050_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y31&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1589045169865","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k8brarian"},{"teacherId":5885050,"projectId":7333533,"letterContent":"We are writing to share just how much of a difference your recent donation has made to the physical atmosphere of our school library. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to purchase two cozy floor chairs and four stackable bamboo end tables, and they have instantly become the most coveted, used, and talked-about items in the entire space! It's been truly entertaining to watch the students interact with them. Those chairs, in particular, are almost never in the same place twice—they are constantly being moved to the perfect sunny spot or tucked into a quiet corner, creating little personalized reading nooks throughout the day. Your contribution has fundamentally changed how our students view and use the library, transforming it from a place to grab a book into a genuinely comfortable and adaptable community space they love to spend time in.\r\n\r\nThe new bamboo tables have been surprisingly versatile, adding both style and extreme convenience. Because they are stackable, we use them for everything: students set their water bottles, pencils, and snacks on them while reading, and we often stack them up to create impromptu display shelving for featured books. This flexibility means the library can quickly adapt to hosting a quiet study session one minute and a small book club meeting the next. Knowing that the simple act of choosing a comfortable seat or having a convenient place to put their things encourages students to stay longer and read more is wonderful. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our library a more inviting, functional, and deeply comfortable haven for all our readers.","fullyFundedDate":1689278740887,"projectUrl":"project/heart-of-the-school-library-refresh-par/7333533/","projectTitle":"Heart of the School: Library Refresh Part 1","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5885050_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y31&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1589045169865","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k8brarian"},{"teacherId":5885050,"projectId":7292197,"letterContent":"We wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you for your generous contributions that helped fill some big holes in our collection! Your contribution has made a massive difference in our library, giving students immediate access to high-demand titles—including popular novels, thrilling graphic novels, and powerful memoirs. These books are vibrant and authentic, and they became instant hits with our students, making our library a truly inclusive and exciting place for everyone.\r\n\r\nThese new resources are super important for our students whose first language is Spanish and who are still learning English. For them, reading fun and engaging books in their home language is a big deal for their cultural pride. Diving into these great stories helps them keep up with and grow their cultural knowledge while building a strong foundation in reading. Even better, by finding their own stories reflected on our shelves, these books help them build a strong community and sense of belonging, making the library a comfortable spot to connect through language.\r\n\r\nYour gift also gives a big boost to our students enrolled in our dual language programs. For these learners, having high-quality, authentic materials is the key to helping them learn the language faster and speak it better. By choosing these challenging novels and popular graphic narratives, they're able to seriously improve their Spanish vocabulary, comprehension, and grammar.
